Santa Barbara and Beyond

We had our very first and quite successful trip this weekend to Santa Barbara and Solvang. The trip was fill

ed with endless adventure, delicious food, and breathtaking views. We returned home feeling rejuvenated and with memories we will cherish forever.

After much research, we found Sun Outdoors RV Park near Goleta. This proved to be a fantastic choice, as it was a conveniently located half-way point between Santa Barbara and Solvang. The RV park was lovely and had many amenities, such as laundry, a pool, games, a general store, and Wi-Fi. Upon arrival, we pulled into our site late in the afternoon, and setting up the RV was surprisingly easy. We had no issues and were able to set up the sewer, electrical, water, and level the camper without any hiccups. After our setup we were able to sit back and enjoy an easy dinner of salami, cheese, crackers and tapenade, which was the perfect ending to a busy day.

Day two was jam-packed with adventure. We started our day by traveling to Santa Barbara's famous Stearns Wharf, where we enjoyed a bloody Mary at the Moby Dick Restaurant. The drinks were fantastic, and the view of the ocean was breathtaking. Afterward, we walked around the pier and checked out the many shops. We love collecting Christmas ornaments from the various towns we travel through. This is a nice way for us to collect small mementos that bring back cherished memories of our various travels. We then headed downtown to do some more sightseeing, including visiting the beautiful Santa Barbara Courthouse and the historic Old Mission Santa Barbara. We had a Mexican lunch on State Street. Much of the street is blocked off for people to walk, bike and just enjoy the area. Afterward, we headed back up the coast to our campsite and made a quick detour at the Goleta Pier. This area has a nice beach for strolling and collecting seashells. Dinner at the camp

On our third day of travel, we decided to explore Solvang, a charming Danish town located in California. With its picturesque pastries, boutiques, and wineries, we were excited to uncover all that this little town had to offer. We started our day by exploring the Hans Christen Anderson Museum. The museum showcases the life and works of Hans Christen Anderson, and it's truly a magical experience. My favorite part was the book store, which had a wide range of books, from classic fairy tales to modern blockbuster novels.

For lunch, we stopped at a small restaurant called Chomp. This hidden gem is known for its burgers and shakes, but we decided to try their fish tacos. We were blown away by how fresh and flavorful they were. If you're ever in Solvang, make sure to stop at Chomp and sample their delicious food. After lunch, we visited the Santa Ynez Mission, a historic site that dates back to 1804. The mission is a beautiful example of Baroque architecture, and it's a must-visit for history buffs or anyone interested in California's rich heritage.
