Palm Springs Fun

We embarked on an exciting two-day getaway to Palm Springs. Our kids had secured a charming mid-century modern house for a couple of days, and naturally, we trailed behind in our trusty RV. Palm Springs boasts a delightful Thursday night street fair, teeming with delectable food, captivating entertainment, and a vibrant crowd. As the sun set, we strolled through the bustling downtown fair, soaking in the lively atmosphere.

Here are a few other things to do with kids in the cute desert town

1. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens: This family-friendly zoo offers a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with desert animals from around the world. With a wide array of exhibits, visitors can see everything from lions and cheetahs to coyotes and roadrunners. The botanical gardens area is filled with cacti and desert plants, while the children’s area lets kids get up close with both domestic and wild animals. Visitors can even take a camel ride or watch a training session with the zoo’s resident animal ambassadors.

2. Palm Springs Aerial Tramway: Take a ride on the world’s largest rotating tramcar up to the top of Mt. San Jacinto for breathtaking views of the Coachella Valley. At the top, visitors can explore hiking trails, have a picnic, or simply enjoy the view. With temperatures often 30 degrees cooler than on the valley floor, it’s a great way to escape the heat and enjoy the outdoors.

3. Cabazon Dinosaurs: Located just outside Palm Springs, the Cabazon Dinosaurs are a fun and unique attraction that kids of all ages will love. The towering T-Rex and Brontosaurus sculptures are a popular backdrop for photos, and the on-site museum offers a glimpse into the history of dinosaurs.

4. Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert: This interactive museum is designed specifically for children to learn, explore, and play. With exhibits that focus on science, art, and culture, children can experiment with hands-on activities and learn about the world around them.

5. Wet’n’Wild Palm Springs: Beat the heat with a day at Wet’n’Wild Palm Springs, a water park with over 20 slides and attractions. Cool off in the wave pool, race down the duelling water slides, or take a leisurely float down the lazy river. With plenty of shaded areas and dining options, it’s the perfect place to spend a family fun day in the sun.
